Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Aquatic Director ensures the aquatics experience is safe, fun and enjoyable for members and program participants.  The Aquatic Director leads the Lionville Y's aquatics department to achieve high standards of excellence in programming, staff development and customer satisfaction.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsibilities include leadership and supervision of all aquatic lessons, both group and private, lifeguards for our indoor and outdoor pool and all related aquatic activities that involve community collaborations. 
  • The Aquatic Director will hire, train, schedule and supervise staff necessary to meet expectations. 
  • The Aquatic Director will work closely with the Director of Aquatic Safety to ensure a safe environment for all. 
  • Additionally, the Aquatic Director is expected to work hands-on with aquatic programs and fulfill general building director duties as assigned. 
  • The Aquatic Director will also perform other duties, as necessary.  
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent preferred. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two or more years of YMCA experience required or related experience within another organization may be considered. 
  • Lifeguard Certification preferred.  YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer preferred. 
  • Proven skills in staff leadership and supervision, safety and risk management expertise, budget management and relationship building is needed to be successful in this position. 
  • Seeking a team player who is flexible with work schedule as evening and weekend coverage will be required. 
  • Strong written and communication skills are essential.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00
