Responsible for development and implementation of strategic direction and related policies of the Y’s technology and communications infrastructure, and support of all operating units and staff. Oversee all information systems, specifically computer-related systems, email and telecommunications, and all related equipment at Evanston locations. Manage support staff and contracted outside vendors to support systems. Manage $300,000 operating budget plus $50,000 capital budget; responsible for approximately $500,000 in capital equipment. Participate in senior management meetings and decision making
Areas of Responsibility:
- Implement strategic direction for technological infrastructure and administration of the association’s information systems, including development of IT-related policies.
- Manage complex projects, do long range planning, and develop yearly budgets to accomplish goals in a cost-effective manner. Develop long term capital budget and an annual and long term plan for routine and preventive maintenance to ensure seamless IT and telecommunications operations throughout the association. Monitor IT/telecom spending within budget guidelines.
- Overall management and efficient maintenance of information technology and telecommunications for the association, including: server structure in a virtual environment. personal computers, printers, copiers and all association systems, network, internet, telephone and Wifi.
- Train and Supervise IT backup personnel and manage outside vendors used to provide IT and telecommunications support and make purchase recommendations for all computer system related hardware, telephone equipment, software and services.
Educational Background:
Degree in related field preferred
Skills/Experience:
- 10 years of experience managing IT department for similarly sized organization, including designing and implementing strategies and policies in a Windows-based network environment.
- Working knowledge of virtual server environment, cloud-based solutions, off-site backup data storage.
- Ability to troubleshoot network problems; maintain Windows workstations, networked and shared printers; set up and manage local wifi networks of varying complexity; project management skills; long range planning and budget development and an ability to assess new technology and implement upgrades to systems.
Compensation/Benefits:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00
