The Senior Director of Community Initiatives represents The Gateway Family YMCA in different coalitions where the YMCA is a key partner, helping to strengthen the foundations of community with focuses on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Within the Association, the director is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating activities associated with the different coalitions as well as provide general oversight for coalition development and activities and associated projects. The director is also responsible for grant development, including managing and reporting on grants received by the YMCA. The director will work to develop and implement strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations and individuals in health promotion, assessment, and evaluation activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate coalition meetings and communicate effectively with members to promote collaboration, negotiation, and problem solving. Represent coalition and the YMCA through professional associations locally, statewide and nationally.
- Recruit and maintain diverse coalition partnerships with local, county and state representation.
- Attend trainings, workshops and engage in activities that will deepen knowledge and understanding with likeminded organizations and individuals supporting a Culture of Health.
- Assist coalition partners and members in conducting annual strategic planning and guide coalition to develop a comprehensive action plan based on needs-assessment and strategic planning.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct educations and trianing activities. Develop training, reference materials, and workshops for coalition and community members.
- Develop and implement data collection methods, tools, and evaluation measures for coalition activities and associated projects in conjunction with coaltiion members.
- Review literature and other resources to identify best practices for the coalition. Review correspondence and communications for effective project management. Manager social media for coalition, including Facebook and Twitter.
- Research and write grant proposals to support coalition. Manage grants awarded to coalition and track them accordingly.
- Serve on Strategic Initiative leadership team and support both the Association and the branches to meet and exceed Strategic Plan benchmarks.
- At least five years similiar experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented.
- Genuine display of strong Listen First skills and outstanding leadership in relationship building, team work, and community relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Publisher and Excel as well as with social media
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
Salary: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00
