Directs all aspects of membership including recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Provides Cause-Driven leadership to Member Services staff. Develops, plans and implements new procedures and methods within Association guidelines to achieve strategic goals. Assist the Family Center Executive Director in development of member centered programs and provides leadership role as assigned to the Annual Fundraising Campaign and key Family Center initiatives.
Division of Duties:
- 70% supervision and management of membership department and serving as
- Membership Director
- 20% leadership to Annual Giving and other special projects
- 10% association and family center meetings and/ or manager on duty assignment
Priorities:
- Supports recruitment of new members and retention of existing members through the creation of successful marketing plans and strategies to achieve financial goals of the family centers
- Responsible for development and execution of membership and marketing budget for the Albemarle Family YMCA
- Supervision of all aspects of membership department at the Albemarle Family YMCA
- Works closely with program directors to promote, sell and deliver high quality programming
- Assumes an active role in Annual Campaign
MEMBERSHIP DEPARTMENT:
- Works closely with and follow direction of the Vice President of Membership and Marketing to ensure standard delivery of the association membership agenda
- Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention/engagement of existing members
- Enforces all HR policies including dress code, code of conduct, and service creed
- Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance
- Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members.
- Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and online registration
- Prepares all marketing plans and monthly sales campaign strategies to ensure overall success for each monthly goal
- Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
- Communicates with members
- Manages billing, invoices and collections of membership dues
- Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates front desk procedures and communicates changes to staff
- Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA
- Plans, schedules and leads all membership department meetings
- Adheres to all policies, guidelines, rules, and best practices as outlines by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads or as directed by supervisor
- Leads assigned aspects of the fundraising campaign
- Achieves goal for community gifts section of annual campaign
- Serves as Manager on Duty as assigned
- Incorporates the five core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith into all aspects of YMCA programs
- Promotes the YMCA mission, vision and character developments into all programming
- Assists District Business Director with daily bank deposits and petty cash
- Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions
- Assists in all areas as assigned
- Minimum two years programmatic experience as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs
- Strong human relation and communication skills to facilitate positive relationships with participants, members and staff
- Current CPR/First-Aid/Oxygen Administration and Medication Administration certifications, or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
- CDL (commercial drivers’ license) must be able to attain within 6 months of hire
- YMCA Team Leadership Certification preferred
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Basic knowledge of computers and ability to learn new software programs
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift and pull 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, run and climb unassisted.
- Must be physically able to successfully complete required certifications
- Must be able to perform the duties of direct reports
Salary: $34,111.00 - $40,000.00
