ASYMCA seeks an experienced and organized Program Coordinator who will play an important role in the planning, coordination and implementation of our El Paso, TX branch’s operations and programs.

Under the supervision of the Executive Director at ASYMCA-El Paso, the Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating the organization’s programs such as the Junior Enlisted Family Center; Thanksgiving Food Drive; Holiday Joy activities, Operation Little learner/Parent & Me, Operation Ride Home, Operation Hero, ASY Golf classic, Welcome Baby, and Back to School Bash.

Additionally, the Program Coordinator will provide ancillary support to external events such as Summer Camp and Summer Food Program. The Program Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for all vendors, internal staff and external partners with direct oversight of all program coordination. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Development Associate and Accounting Manager to ensure that events operate within the estimated budget and accomplish the desired outcomes.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Including, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and monitor the Junior Enlisted Family Center with administration, development, scheduling, organizing and marketing of all programs and activities.  
  • Identify, recruit, train and manage high impact volunteers for fundraising events who will assist the organization in program awareness.
  • Collect, maintain, analyze and report on data for the programs and activities.
  • Assist in sponsor solicitation, cultivation, and promotion for marketing activities and distribution of program information to Fort Bliss leaders.
  • Assist with ASYMCA fund raising activities and special events as needed.
  • Represents the ASYMCA throughout the community. Attends staff meetings, Fort Bliss meetings, events and other local meetings. 
  • Play a key role in the development of short and long-term plans for programs and activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
  • Assist in the design of performance objectives, implement and monitor programming to meet desired outcomes.
  • Develop yearly outreach plan according to program needs and capacity.
  • Assist in the development of public relations and communications strategies to support program goals and increase community awareness.
  • Assist with grant and/or proposal writing as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program.
  • Performs job-related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least one year of community programs experience or two years of relevant work experience
  • CPR, First Aid/AED and Food Handlers certification a plus
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers, independently with little or no supervision.
  • Responsible, well organized, and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word, Publisher, Social Media, and contact management programs such as Amilia.        
  • Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and public speaking skills.
