This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Mentor Director intentionally forsters a cause-centered program that is driven towards improving the quality and impact of the Mentor program. The YMCA Mentor Program serves ~38 schools across two school disctricts. Currently supervises 3 part-time coordinators and ~320 volunteer mentors.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Support and participate in all aspects of the Association Strategic Plan.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the Mentor program within approved budget guidelines.
- Supervise and evaluate the Mentor Program Coordinators.
- Primary responsibilities will be to focus on recruiting and training of mentors.
- Secondary responsibilities, through the Mentor Coordinators, will be to oversee the placement and ongoing support of the mentors and mentees.
- Serve as the point of contact for district level school officials.
- Maintain adequate online records to evaluate, contro land measure the effectiveness of the program.
- Work closely with the Development Director on annual campaign fundraising.
- Willing to serve and support any other needs of the organization as determined by the leadership.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in social services, business or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience:
- YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
- Proficient in all standard business software and statistical norms.
- Knowledgeable about office processes and procedures.
- Ability to work with integrity, full discretion and a professional approach.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race,physicalability, sexual orientation,etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $33,000.00 - $38,000.00
