This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA programs and services in accordance with the YMCA mission and policies of the association.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversees and plans the day-to-day operations of the Literacy Mentor and Camp iRock programs, ensuring compliance with the prescribed fidelity and quality markers. 
  • Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
  • Actively participates in YMCA Annual Campaign and supports Program Branch team in meeting goals.
  • Recruits new mentors, facilitates trainings, and develops and maintains positive relationships with school and community stakeholders.
  • Hires or Designates, supervises, and coaches staff, enrichment leaders, and volunteers for Camp iRock.
  • In partnership with the school district, promotes student recruitment to ensure targeted population, optimal enrollment and program growth.
  • Maintains on-going communication and collaboration with supervisor, appropriate Y staff, school’s administration, and community partners to successfully implement the program.
  • Evaluates program quality and fidelity, implementing necessary steps to remedy weaknesses.
  • Works with the school district to collect, analyze and ensure timely reporting of measurement and evaluation data.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring the program’s budget and orders supplies.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of YMCA and/or education experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Preferred experience working with Fountas and Pinnell leveled literacy.
  • Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
  • Must be a positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $32,000.00 - $42,000.00
