As a part of our leadership team, the Branch Executive Director plays an integral role in defining, developing, and executing strategic and tactical direction to achieve branch business and mission objectives.
The Branch Executive Director manages our existing 80,000 square foot facility and ensures the delivery of high-quality programs and services to over 8,500 members.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops, directs, and monitors high quality programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
- Assists with strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
- Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
- Assists with the financial development activities of the branch.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
- Develops, implements and manages the financial plan of the branch - $3.2 million
- Develops, directs and maintains superior services for YMCA members.
- Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities and equipment.
- Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
- Manages the budgeting process so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Ensures operating budgets meet or exceed targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to interact and relate with all levels of staff and diverse populations.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in business, human services, wellness or related field or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience:
- 10+ years of management experience in positions of increasing responsibility, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, adept at successfully building internal and external relationships.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with diverse organizations.
- Innovative thinker and creative problem solver with a willingness and proven ability to challenge the status quo.
- Ability to be flexible, self-motivated and positive, and to respond to the dynamics of a changing environment.
- Ability to build, inspire, motivate, and lead a team toward success.
- YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader Certification preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience supervising childcare and summer camp programs·
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and diverse populations.
- CPR and first-aid certifications required.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00
