The North Central Utah Region Manager will manage a corps of volunteers dedicated to delivering essential Chapter programs and services in a multi-county region, including Utah, Wasatch and Summit. This position will also manage the region’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising event. Additional duties include outreach to local healthcare and long-term care systems, healthcare professionals and local research entities.
This position is based out of the office in Draper, with the majority of work conducted either remotely or in the community.
- Leads the volunteer facilitation and delivery of information through support groups and educational, community outreach and early stage programs.
- Recruit, train, support and collaborate with volunteers and volunteer leaders.
- Create and execute strategies to expand the number of support groups, community education, community outreach and early stage programs throughout the service area.
- Manage assigned Walk to End Alzheimer’s to achieve annual revenue objectives in the Utah County and Wasatch Back market areas, including executing fundraising goals and managing the recruitment of corporate sponsors, teams and participants.
- Collaborate with volunteers and volunteer leaders to manage fundraising event details including calendars, reports, goals, timelines, meeting arrangements, appointments, communications, logistics, vendor relations, permits, budgets and donor engagement.
- Support other chapter fundraising endeavors, including promotion of The Longest Day event.
- Engage community partners and work to build strong community relationships.
- Collaborate with Chapter leadership to develop marketing content aimed at promoting programs and increasing participation.
- Achieve initiatives focused on building and strengthening relationships with healthcare and long-term care systems, increasing the number of referrals to chapter services from healthcare professionals.
- Achieve diversity and inclusion initiatives and outreach to Hispanic, African American, LGBTQ and other diverse communities.
- Promote Alzheimer’s and related dementia research efforts throughout service area.
- Represent the Association through community outreach efforts such as public events, conferences, workshops and media events.
- Work to build understanding for the Alzheimer's Association, its research, programs and services in all communications with current and potential donors.
- Review and monitor revenue accounting and reporting systems in a timely manner.
- A minimum of three years of experience in sales, marketing, fundraising, non-profit management or a related field. Experience in mass market fundraising preferred
- Experience working in Utah County and Wasatch Back preferred
- Experience in networking and building community engagement through recruiting volunteers and partnering with other community organizations
- Experience in making successful fundraising requests of individual and groups and meeting fund development goals
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to speak publicly in large and small groups
- Ability to self-start, multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to use fundraising database programs and other web-based programs
- Ability to lead, guide and inspire volunteers to achieve goals and objectives while demonstrating and promoting open communication, transparency and teamwork
- Ability to present to and facilitate groups in a manner reflecting an understanding of different learning modalities, communication technologies, group processes and cultural diversity
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a supportive team environment on strategic initiatives, priorities and mission fulfillment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to use other software and databases
- Access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel as needed to perform job duties
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 poundsa
