The Facilities Specialist supports membership and staff satisfaction by ensuring excellence in safety, security, cleanliness, and attractiveness of Y properties across Bucks County. Branches of responsibility for this role include Doylestown, Warminster, and Quakertown, however, the Facilities Specialist may be asked to travel to our Lower Bucks Region branches to provide support when needed.

Essential Functions:
- Relationship Building: Through the use of Listen First, establish positive collaborations between staff to staff, staff to member, and ultimately member to member
- Engagement: Establish a clean, safe, organized, welcoming environment which supports relationship building and fosters small communities
- Retention: Through the use of Listen First, actively listen to the needs of members and staff; display strong follow-through
- Data: Continually compile data and use results to evaluate work processes, progress, and membership/staff satisfaction
- Support membership retention and satisfaction through Living Our Cause initiatives; and a clean, well-maintained facility and repair of equipment.
- Inspect facilities and grounds daily for safety code violations and risk management, repair and maintenance. Maintain detailed logs of service needs and timeline for repair.
- Support set up / clean up of events, meetings, etc.
- Maintain high communication with supervisor, facility peers and staff in keeping current in work orders as presented by facility needs tracking system.
- Remain alert, proactive, and responsive to maintenance issues within the facility that are in need of upgrade, repair or improvement.
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance as directed by the supervisor.
- Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
- When professional repairs are necessary, oversee contractors when asked to by a supervisor.
- Diagnose mechanical issues; provide suggestions and solutions to supervisor.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary and only when within skill set.
- Support pool operations are running within safety guidelines, water clarity, temperature, and chemicals are within appropriate range; follow bather guidelines as per the PA Health Code.
- Provide staff representation and expertise as required.
- Complete daily written inspections of the facilities. Note any area in need of repair and give a timeline for repair within 24 hours.
- Communicate with staff at all levels; respond to management and members with a timeline for maintenance requests and follow up when a project has been completed.
- Participate in training opportunities to stay current on trends and for certification purposes.
- Attend and support YMCA special events and fundraising activities.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in Facilities and Property Management
- Trade/certification or experience
- Proficiency in maintaining and completing most minor repairs including; plumbing, electrical or mechanical equipment, and controls
- Possess current Certified Pool (CPO) or must obtain certification within one year of employment
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills to work with staff, vendors, members, volunteers, and board members
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products; Outlook, Excel, Word and Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Ability to conduct internet research to obtain quotes, attend webinars and seek product information
- Knowledge of and appreciation of the mission of the YMCA; previous experience with non-profit organizations preferred
- Knowledge of research methods and a high degree of computer efficiency in Microsoft office products
- Trained in YUSA Listen First; or within first six months of employment
