Reporting into the COO, the Branch Executive of Lower Bucks Family YMCA leads the mission which is to create relationships and offer programs that provide a healthy start for children, growth for youth and teens, wellness for adults, and unity for families. The Branch Executive is responsible for upholding staff professionalism and excellence, as well as positive culture, safety, and cleanliness.
Membership, Financial Development, Camp, Fitness, Aquatics, Sports/Family Programming and events across the two branches of Fairless Hills and Newtown.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Staff: Recruit, train, and consistently develop a staff team which exhibits a welcoming, positive, mature, and empathetic attitude; while displaying high knowledge of our cause-driven services.
- Environment: Establish a clean, safe, organized, welcoming environment that speaks to all members.
- Relationship Building: Through the use of Listen First, establish positive collaborations between staff to staff, staff to member, and ultimately member to member.
- Data: Continually compile and use survey results to close service area gaps throughout areas of responsibility.
Core Responsibilities:
- Grow membership, programming, development and, retention through the following:
- Secure the details. Lead with excellence. Ensure branch professionalism and adherence to best practices
- Set the standard for positive engagement, organization and strong Y leaders who demonstrate care, communication, consistency and culture
- Develop and direct high quality relationship-based engagement strategies. Model relationship building skills in interactions with staff, volunteers, members and the community
- Develop, manage, and monitor the branch operating budget to meet and/or exceed budget goals
- In collaboration with COO, Facilities and Risk Management, ensure the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment
- In collaboration with VP of Marketing, direct branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to the community
- Lead development efforts; achieving branch goals as set by the Development Department. Ensure Y presence throughout the community
- Address community needs through the development of programs and services
- Attend Board Meetings (eventual leadership thereof), Senior Leadership Team Meetings and other organizational meetings to actively acquire information on current Y projects, membership initiatives and areas of focus
- Perform all other responsibilities as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing, and public relations, and program development.
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
