Youth Sports  (KBA Basketball, 2-6 Grade League, Youth Basketball)

  • Develops league schedules, rules and team rosters.
  • Recruits, trains and supervises volunteer coaches and officials.
  • Implements YMCA Character Development into programs.
  • Work with FCA on collaboration to implement Christian principles into our sports programs.
  • Establishes collaborations with local agencies to continue growth of programs.
  • Provide set up support for Fall & Spring Flag Football, Cheerleading and T-ball.
  • Provide supervisory support for Indoor & Outdoor Soccer and Track & Field.
  • Liaison with basketball tournaments with outside agencies.

Day Camp

  • Hires, trains and supervises camp staff.
  • Acts as staff leader in development of camp format and program.
  • Selects themes and dates for camps that fit with YMCA building usage.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manages and communicates with Defiance High School on gym usage.
  • Organizes program flyers for the printing and handles delivery.
  • Takes leadership role in program staff meetings.

Special Tasks

  • Works as a lead member of the staff team to assist with the development and implementation of special events.
  • Plans and implements the Fun Night Programs.
  • Provides leadership support for the 5K races.
  • Assists Youth Director with Home School PE Program.
  • Plans and implements Champions Special Needs Program
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to work accurately at a fast pace
  • Strong communication skills
  • Possess excellent human relations skills
  • Organization, planning and monitoring skills
  • Willingness to work schedule that reflects the needs of the Y, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to be coachable and learning at a quick pace
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $27,500.00 - $28,500.00
