The Ag Conservation Coordinator assists Western Lake Erie Basin (WLEB) Agriculture Project staff to help build a local sustainable agriculture conservation movement in the WLEB. The Ag Conservation Coordinator provides administrative, research, project management and other general assistance to program staff. The Ag Conservation Coordinator provides administrative, research, project management and other general assistance to program staff to implement goals and activities in the Project Conservation Business Plan.
The Ag Conservation Coordinator assists with implementing, tracking and reporting on activities to promote and increase public awareness and communicate TNC’s agriculture and conservation message and goals. The Conservation Coordinator will provide administrative support and project management, produce maps using GIS software and assist in the production of reports. Work may include travel to field/event sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Coordinates projects, sets realistic deadlines and manages a timeline.
- Manage and develop databases for project tracking and reporting.
- Researches and analyzes factual information to support communications and outreach efforts.
- Coordinates multiple tasks or projects in a timely manner and with attention to detail.
- Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks and projects.
- Works with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple on-going projects.
- Experience writing and/or editing publications and related materials.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with ArcGIS mapping and basic data analysis.
- Extraordinary attention to detail and ability to look for next task without supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work with diverse partners.
- Familiarity and some application of current and evolving trends in agriculture, conservation, and watershed management.
- Assist with program support through clear written communications, report writing, social media and other written materials.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments sometimes coming from a number of sources and work independently.
- Ability to plan, administer and record results of work-team meetings and activities.
