We are currently seeking a results driven leader with demonstrated impact to lead our Youth programs for our North and West branches.
Areas of Responsibility:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Responsible for the supervision of all Youth Development program staff for assigned branches.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as role model to members and Y staff and, at all times live the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA movement. Inform and educate all members and program participants about the mission, character development, goals, action plans, programs and charitable purpose of the Y.
- Responsible for continued growth in youth program enrollment.
- Plan and supervise a comprehensive recreation programs for youth, families and adults.
- Responsible for management of all program staff to include, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Facilitate training and development opportunities for all program staff to ensure completion and required certifications are obtained and maintained. Ensure required certifications are maintained.
- Prepare and manage program budget within the set goals, monitoring expenses and payroll regularly.
- Ensure all state required child care records for assigned sites are maintained as necessary this includes children’s files, staff files and payment records.
- Ensure staff members maintain a clean and safe work site as you monitor site during site visits.
- Prepare schedules and assignments for staff, train and communicate importance of using When2Work scheduling software.
- Promote programs using impactful media/marketing sources, create impactful relationships with community partners to grow programs and awareness.
- Purchase supplies and equipment as required for program needs.
- Attend training and certification workshops necessary for the safe and effective management of the program area.
- Provide accurate records and appropriate reports to comply with the requirements of insurance, state codes, and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage facilities and equipment used for programs in the gyms and multipurpose areas in assigned branches.
- Perform MOD duties as outlined in the association MOD schedule.
- Participate in and solicit others to participate in necessary YMCA financial development efforts, specifically the Annual Campaign.
- Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures of Scott County Family Y.
- Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations including knowledge of emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
- Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings.
- All other duties as assigned by the Branch Executive.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
Skills/Experience:
Qualifications
- Must obtain a minimum of 75 points as established by DHS regulations this is achieved through a combination of education, experience and training.
- Prior experience working in youth and/or licensed child care programs in a supervisory capacity is required.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share information with staff, parents, and members.
- Proven record of successfully managing multiple programs simultaneously.
- Able to respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in emergency situations.
Required Certifications
- Must obtain a minimum of 6 hours training annually according to DHS requirements
- Must be able to pass background check
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification*
- Mandatory Reporter*

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $32,000.00 - $34,000.00
