The Maintenance Director will provide general  and preventive maintenance for all association facilities, including mechanical equipment, swimming pools and fitness equipment.  Assist in building renovations and redecorating, working with the Head Maintenance Director on risk management, utility monitoring, vehicle and property maintenance, record keeping, departmental planning and member experience issues.  Concentration during summer months will be at Camp Able Lincoln. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as a role model to members and YMCA staff.  Live the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA movement.
  • Assist in the monitoring of critical maintenance and repair of major systems within the facility and recommend scope of project and coordinate work through the Head Maintenance Director.
  • Perform and/or assist in general plumbing repairs, minor electrical repairs and basic carpentry.
  • Maintain swimming pool and spa equipment and provide documentation of problems, chemical readings and test results.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and repair exercise equipment.
  • Participate in the association risk management program that creates a safe environment for our members and staff and is cost-effective for the association.
  • Repair equipment and check danger points daily.
  • Assure facilities and surrounding outdoor areas are clean and attractive which includes but is not limited to lawn care and snow removal.
  • Complete records and reports as required in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Participate in and solicit others to participate in necessary YMCA financial development efforts, specifically the Annual Campaign.
  • Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures of Scott County Family Y.
  • Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations including knowledge of emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
  • Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Head Maintenance Director.
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of three years prior experience in custodial operations, building maintenance, and construction management of small projects
  • Ability to simultaneously manage and complete multiple projects.
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, and business contacts.

Required Certifications

  • Must be able to pass background check including MVR.
  • Ability to drive and maintain current license.
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification required within 120 days of employment.
  • Must be certified or become certified in water/waste management system treatment.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $33,000.00 - $36,000.00
