Provides guidance, materials, and support for promotion, sales, marketing and retention for membership, and all Y programs, activities, special events and philanthropy. Serves as webmaster and electronic communications expert. Trains staff in the use of marketing and communications tools and strategies. This position also reviews and approves all flyers, signage and social media posts for the association. Within the YMCA organizations, this position has primary working relationships with the senior management team, development staff, and program staff at both the Central Lincoln County and Boothbay Region YMCAs. Outside the organizations, the position coordinates, primarily, with the media, chamber and printing companies.
- Create promotional materials for assigned marketing and communication initiatives to include but not restricted to, program guides, summer camp guide, social media, banners, email communications, annual reports and impact statements, banners and other print, online and creative materials.
- Serve as a Y brand advocate and work with Y USA to implement brand strategies in all communications
- Develop and implement a shared marketing an public relations plan to increase awareness of YMCA impact on the community.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining content services that support marketing engagement strategy across all digital channels – web, social media, mobile, electronic newsletters, etc.
- Collect and promotes stories of Y impact
- Maintain productive relationships with the media and community stakeholders
- Assist with creating, planning and promoting special events
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.
- Experience overseeing design and production of print and electronic materials.
- Computer and Internet literacy in word processing, social media, website, and page layout.
- Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
Required Certifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit or association sector.
- Experience working with volunteers is desirable.
- YMCA Branding experience desired
Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00
