We are currently seeking a Senior Program Director for our School Age Services branch who will ensure the overall success and management of the assigned territory (38-45 schools with a 4 million dollar budget) for afterschool and summer day camp programs.

The Senior Program director will must be forward-thinking and invested in developing the next generation of leaders who can position the organization for future success. This person will develop and meet territory budget, ensure delivery of high quality programs through the leadership and development of 4-5 Program Directors, and must be visible at program sites a minimum of four times per week (one afternoon per program director) to ensure quality and drive results. He/She will also work closely with Operations Director, HR Recruiter, branch Executive Directors, Curriculum Director, Business Services Director, and branch program staff to support the goals of School Age Services and growth of Afterschool, Holiday and Day Camps. Ensures excellent customer service is delivered in all aspects of the program to participants, parents, community.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Quality Results & Relationship Building

  • Responsible for territory operations for afterschool and summer camp and ensuring a growth based model at existing sites through quality program development. Able to formulate solutions and adapt to shifts in territory and program delivery. Manage and adhere to the SAS year round chart of work.   
  • Hire, Train, and provide outstanding leadership to Exempt Program Directors, driving results regarding the delivery of quality programs and growth in afterschool and summer day camps including management of labor and expenses, program growth, adherence to all standards and policies. Incorporate Love and Logic strategies into the culture on a daily basis in all interactions. Site visits will be done one time per week per PD's territory (min. of 4 quality visits per week)
  • Develop and nurture relationships in the community that will further the goals of our cause-driven organization and strengthen school based & branch based relationships and staff retention.
  • Maintain communication with SAS Executive Director, Operations Director, Business Services Director, HR, Branch Execs, School Age Services leadership team, school leadership and community leaders and serves as a Campaigner for Annual Campaign for the YMCA.       

Staff Leadership & Accountability

  • Develop a strong leadership model of accountability of direct and indirect staff to deliver quality results, strategize solutions and problem solve and overcome challenges.
  • Provide a strategic vision to drive innovation, cultivating an environment which creates future growth of leadership and builds a culture of inclusion, trust, empowerment, and relationship building.
  • Responsible for full-time supervision and accountability for School Age Operations. Tracks and proactively creates and ensures action plans for optimal results.
  • Ensure administrative duties associated with the role such as incident follow up, parent communication, paperwork and reports and proactive follow up is completed as needed.        

Fiscal Management

  • Accountable for the development and achievement of territory budget through ensuring budget controls are in place, payroll oversite is maintained, and other expenses are monitored. 
Educational Background: 
Requires a 4 year degree or the equivalent in related work experience and must have a successful track record in multi-unit management in program growth and staff development.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Will be required to have demonstrated background in fiscal management, budget creation, as well as the ability to successfully manage, coach and develop a team of Full-Time professionals. 
  • Must have experience in the day to day operations of business serving youth and or community as well as some organization leadership in program delivery. 
  • Must have experience with community development, collaborations and program delivery. 
  • This includes the ability to manage and delegate appropriate responsibilities to the assigned full-time professionals.
  • Must be able to build and coach a team of individuals as business leaders and maintain a culture of optimism, caring, honesty, and openness.
  • Must have current knowledge of licensing procedures and policies to work effectively with incidents, suspensions, and follow up.
  • Will work with branches to ensure proper logistics are in place for successful day camp start up and close out.
  • Works closely with Operations Director on Trainings.
