The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is currently seeking 2 outstanding candidates to serve in our School Age Services department as a Program Director Level 1. This is a unique opportunity to implement and deliver a high quality of programming while rotating to different sites within the Dallas YMCA as needed.

The Program Director I will learn how to implement and deliver quality programming for our afterschool and day camp sites. He/she will train and shadow at various locations to learn afterschool and day camp operations. This includes but is not limited to: policies and procedures; licensing; interviewing and hiring; parent, participant, and school communication; following budgets. He/she will fill in as acting Program Director when positions are vacant and will provide support when territories are short-staffed. This includes supporting the mission of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas by promoting the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, promoting mental and physical well-being for children, and ensuring that quality standards and licensing requirements are met. The Program Director I will help with staff hiring, supervision, training, and engagement, and will assist in developing creative, enriching activities for daily lessons.
The Program Director I will seek out and participate in networking opportunities to increase program visibility and community awareness. This includes helping to ensure that branch staff have an understanding, appreciation and enthusiasm for the afterschool and day camp programs; ensuring that parents and school district personnel are highly satisfied with the YMCA afterschool and day camp programs; and ensuring that children have positive outcomes as a result of their participation in the YMCA programs. In collaboration with branch leadership, he/she will quickly identify, validate, and communicate plans for transitional support and continuous improvement to facilitate program effectiveness and change management
The School Age Services (SAS) branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas services approximately 72 afterschool sites and 21 day camp sites per year. These sites geographically range from as far north as Frisco, Celina and Anna, as far south as Waxahachie, and east to west from Irving to Grand Prairie. This position will work as needed at different sites within this territory.

- Seek out and participate in networking opportunities to increase program visibility and community awareness.
- Identify, validate, and communicate plans for tranisitional support and coninuous improvement to facilitate program effectivenesss and change management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in management in education or childcare, with 1 or more years of experience in multi-unit management or management of a large Afterschool Site (over 100) preferred
- A cooperative spirit, committed to character development in promoting and demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in dealing with staff, lay leaders, YMCA members, program participants and the public.
- Strong skills in planning, recruitment, customer service and program development
- Demonstrated ability to build and coach a team of individuals as business unit leaders
- Ability to build rapport within the local community including school administration
- Preferred BS in Education or Business or equivalent experience
- Must meet Director Certification through Child Care Licensing;
Salary: $33,000.00 - $37,000.00
