The Regional Sports Director will plan, coordinate and execute all sports and revenue generating programs for two branches.  They will manage daily administrative operations of these programs, manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of revenue generating programs.  Consistently grow program revenue, participation and program offerings. In addition, the Director is responsible to meet or exceed an annual budget of $70k.  In addition, they will recruit, train, coach, schedule, evaluate, and terminate staff, contractors, and volunteers. The ideal candidate will have superior customer service and relationship building skills, ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines, ability to problem solve in a professional and calm manner, and proven experience supervising quality sports programs.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • As a Regional Sports Director, you will give leadership in Youth Sports operations.  Program areas require a large amount of risk management responsibility. 
  • Program areas require weekend/evening availability and responsibility. 
  • Plan, coordinate and execute program development/delivery and assist with branch based programming. 
  • Responsible for knowledge and adherence to association and branch goals and objectives according to the strategic plan. 
  • Develop the annual program budget and manage as approved. 
  • Develop and implement an ongoing evaluation and review process to measure the effectiveness of the program area and supervise in-branch operations. 
  • Identify, develop and disseminate key program resources as needed.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have 3 years experience in Youth Sports and/or community based program development and delivery. 
Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to administer the operating policies and procedures in a manner that will aid in the achievement of the goals and objectives as set forth in the branch  as well as the association.
  • Must possess human relations skills that retain a level of credibility and influence with staff and community volunteers, teachers, and school personnel.
  • Must have skills in planning, training and organization to effectively carry out their area of responsibility. 
  • Must be able to obtain key youth sports development trainer certifications and implement trainings accordingly.
  • Responsible for the hiring and supervision of approximately 4 part time support staff and 15 contract labor.
  • Must be able to build relationships and rapport with program participants, staff, and volunteers.
  • Must have visual, hearing, and physical dexterity to substitute as a sports official.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain CPR, first aid, AED, blood borne pathogen, and child abuse training certifications.
  • Must have flexible schedule including most Saturday’s and evenings.   
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills are needed to be successful.
  • Must possess a current driver’s license with an acceptable record and own transportation.
  • Must possess a cooperative spirit committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility at all times.
