Under the direction of the  Executive Director, the Membership Director manages all membership-related experiences & activities within the branch operations in accordance with the purposes & policies of the Association . Additionally, he/she manages the promotional activities which attract new members & administers his/her approved budget.  Incumbent will also serve as a staff liaison of branch committee and campaign. Incumbent ensures the branch is represented by staff on the  Association AOC team, Member Service Delivery team. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • This position is responsible for the Membership Services departments and will supervise all administrative  and operational functions in accordance with the purposes, policies and operational promises of the Association  - including membership growth, membership satisfaction, membership wellness and membership retention. 
  • Will handle staffing, scheduling, membership issues and reports. 
  • In conjunction with the marketing department, this position is responsible for new sales, corporate partnerships, membership promotions and membership recognition and appreciation activities as well as community image and awareness. 
  • This position is responsible for welcome center staff. 
  • He/she must have a strong understanding of the YMCA mission, and have a strong desire to deliver quality service to the community. 
  • This position is responsible for various member and program participant account issues. 
  • This position will have responsibilities with the Annual Campaign.
  • Incumbent will implement all YMCA policies and procedures for risk management/ safety for all staff, volunteers and participants. 
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the Executive Director. 
Educational Background: 
4 year degree in a related field or the equivalent in related work experience in the YMCA or a membership based health and wellness organization. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • A successful proven track record in membership sales and development. 
  • Strong skills in customer service and committed to engaging members to ensure a growing retention rate. 
  • Provide leadership for all staff in the Membership and Childwatch Departments.
  • Enthusiasm, a professional personal image, and the ability to work harmoniously with staff and members are imperative.
  • Must have the skills to hire, train, motivate and develop a high performing customer friendly staff that is focused on the delivery of exceptional service to our members and guests.  
  • Comfortable with public speaking, creative, and high problem solving capabilities. 
  • Flexible schedule which includes some weekends and evenings. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Compensation/Benefits: 

The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas offers a comprehensive Benefits Plan: Health, Dental, Vision, Long & Short Term Disability, 125 Medical & Dependent Care Reimbursement Plan, Employee Assistance Plan, Retirement 12% paid by the YMCA upon meeting eligibility requirements and Paid Time Off (PTO).

Salary: $35,000.00 - $38,000.00
