We are looking for a Manager, Onboarding and Communication to provide critical support to the Onboarding and Institute Team with a specific emphasis on incoming corps member selection, onboarding, communication, and retention. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting and developing incoming corps members in order to ensure they are prepared for Institute and beyond, and will have the ability to build relationships and demonstrate strong communication skills in order to meet team goals. 

You will serve as our region’s Selection Partner, acting as the liaison between the national admissions team and our regional staff in order to execute corps member selection. You will also be our region’s Matriculation Manager, acting as the voice of TFA DFW to corps members during the onboarding process and throughout Institute. You will be responsible for building relationships with a large number of incoming corps members, supporting them throughout this critical phase in their Teach For America journey. You should possess strong written communication skills, as you will be sharing information and building relationships virtually in the majority of your work. You should enjoy working on multiple projects at once and thrive in a flexible, ever changing environment. The goal is to prepare and support our incoming corps members in order for them to become strong teachers in their classrooms. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as the region’s Matriculation Manager, working with Recruitment and Admissions to meet corps member confirmation and retention goals (40%) 
    • Manage team of regional callers during five offer acceptance windows to meet corps size goals 
    • Implement region’s retention strategy to retain corps members to and through institute
  • Manage onboarding systems, data tracking, and action item completion (20%)
    • Create and update content in Canvas, ensure corps members are on track to meet onboarding objectives
    • Maintain incoming corps data to ensure accurate tracking and decision making 
  • Create and send corps member onboarding communications, including newsletters, social media campaigns, and webinars (20%) 
    • Write monthly newsletter to build corps members’ context of our organization and region
    • Create Slack community building plan to build corps culture 
    • Edit and participate in webinars throughout the onboarding cycle 
  • Act as the region’s Selection Partner, working with Admissions to schedule corps member interviews (10%)
    • Assign interview tours to regional staff and manage scheduling conflicts
    • Prepare interview materials and oversee new selector training 
  • Support Onboarding and Institute team priorities as needed, including corps member hiring and certification testing (10%)
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree required
Skills/Experience: 
  • TFA corps experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience building strong relationships with individuals and small groups
  • Experience creating and executing strategically aligned communication tools
  • Able to build strong relationships with others in challenging situations
  • Strong ability to build and execute a project plan
  • Ability to tailor approach toward the perspective of others
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage in difficult conversations
  • Skilled in using logic and data to perform analysis
  • Excellent live transcription skills 
  • Desire to constantly improve and learn from past experiences

Work Demands
