In order to achieve its mission of developing systems-level leaders for change, TFA-DFW’s workplace must do exactly that: develop systems-level leaders for change. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Staff Development & Culture will oversee all talent development, talent management, and staff engagement activities. You will serve as a key advisor to staff and managers across all functions. You will ensure that staff members are engaged and successful, and that TFA-DFW is a great place to work. Areas of Responsibility: 

Learning & Development (50%)

  • Develop and execute a talent development strategy to develop and retain the best talent in the market promoting TFA-DFW as a great place to work.
  • Own, execute, and manage all staff learning and development initiatives and activities, including staff-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) development .
  • Support our broader regional team in our ongoing development in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity and other prioritized areas.
  • Utilize data and key performance metrics to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions for staff performance, retention, and engagement
  • Build trust with staff across all layers of the organization and be an active listener and effective problem solver of employee issues while helping support organizational priorities and goals.
  • Implement and support a rigorous staff development system through team, sub-team, and individual learning structures.

Performance Management (20%)

  • Oversee TFA-DFW’s implementation of the national performance management program and requirements.
  • Collaborate with staff and managers on individual development plans, results tracking, career pathways and succession planning.

Staff Engagement & Workplace Culture (20%)

  • Champion and build TFA-DFW’s organizational culture, assisting staff to adhere to our national and regional values through effective programs and internal communications.
  • Build programs to help cultivate and organizational culture that inspires exceptional talent, performance, and the highest achievement in our people.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team and managers on developing a culture of learning, continuous feedback and career progression. Create experiences that engage employees and teams at all levels.
  • Own and execute staff events, culture activities, and rewards/recognition programs.

Team Responsibilities (10%)

  • Support broader regional and organizational priorities, including selecting new corps members, supporting staff recruitment, attending regional team meetings, and supporting other functional regional initiatives
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Leads with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusiveness in all aspects of the work
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience
  • Experience designing and facilitating training preferred
  • Prior experience in and/or interest in adult learning and development preferred
  • You are a natural mentor, coach, and facilitator of people relationships.
  • You are a superior communicator orally and with the written word and able to effectively provide constructive and strategic feedback.
  • You are an influencer with the ability to influence a diversity of work styles and personalities.
  • You are an excellent project manager with the skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • You are a culture builder, committed to working as a positive team member supporting collaboration.

Work Demands:

  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings; occasional travel.
