Exciting opportunity for Aquatics and Sports Director at a downtown branch.

Oversee Aquatics and Sports at the T Boone Pickens Y.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director will be responsible for growth and expansion of sports leagues to ensure that membership participation continues to grow as well as attract prospective members to our YMCA. This position will develop and manage the sports budget and make the necessary adjustments to ensure a successful year. Success in this position includes marketing and promoting all sports leagues, tournaments, clinics internally and externally for maximum participation. The Director is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and developing all sports staff to ensure a consistent quality delivery for a great member experience. Director will ensure that all YMCA standards are in place.

In addition, the Director will be responsible for the growth and expansion of aquatic classes, swim lessons, partnerships etc. to ensure that membership participation continues to grow and attract prospective members to our YMCA. Accountable to develop and manage the aquatic budget and be able to make the necessary adjustments to ensure a successful year. Responsible for marketing and promoting all swim lessons, classes, training, etc. internally and externally for maximum participation. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and developing all aquatic staff to ensure a consistent quality delivery for a great member experience. Must ensure that all YMCA standards are in place. Required to obtain all program certifications related to aquatics.

Educational Background: 
Requires a 4-year college degree and related experience in sports and aquatics programs.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience hiring, training, and developing staff.
  • Knowledge of marketing and promotions as it relates to encouraging registrations for all programs, leagues, and events.
  • Experience developing and managing multiple department budgets.
  • Able to make the necessary changes to ensure year-end budget achieves the budgeted target.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and successfully achieve the targeted goals.
  • Innovative and able to implement change for growth and positive culture
Compensation/Benefits:

Salary: $40,345.00 - $42,345.00
