The Sales Clerk will help to support the Trinity River Audubon Center operations and guest services including Admissions, its Nature Store sales, general visitor and volunteer assistance and membership sales. This position is required to work Saturday and Sunday.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide the highest level of customer service for all Center visitors
  • Strive for profitability by serving as a knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful Sales Associate
  • Maintain accurate cash control
  • Balance daily cash drawer at end of shift
  • Support all retail operations at the Center
  • Restock all needed supplies at admissions desk and store as needed
  • Provide assistance with limited merchandise pricing as needed
  • Assist with the planning and operations of special events conducted by Audubon
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the National Audubon Society and its associated activities
  • Answer questions regarding the ecology and natural history of Trinity River Audubon Center to guests
  • Perform center opening and closing procedures
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales related position
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to handle cash and receipts accurately
  • Knowledge of merchandise inventory system
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must commit to predetermined schedules, coverage and daily operations
  • Flexible approach to work and schedule
  • Spanish speaking preferred
