The Director, Teaching and Learning is responsible for stewarding our regional vision to ensure that corps members engage in professional learning experiences that develop them as teacher leaders equipped with the pedagogical knowledge needed to set and fulfill an ambitious goal and vision with students. The role is primarily focused around the design of learning experiences and professional development informed by the articulation of our DFW corps program and DFW theory of learning. In addition to designing professional learning experiences, the Director, Teaching and Learning will consult on the articulation of our corps program, set vision and support staff in facilitation of adult learning, partner with teacher coaches to develop the content and pedagogical needs of their teachers and be responsible for having a pulse on the state of learning in our classrooms. The Director, Teaching and Learning will report to the Managing Director over corps member professional learning.

- Use our articulation of program and theory of learning to create plans and design learning experiences that develop first and second year teachers’ knowledge, skills, and beliefs in culturally responsive pedagogy across content areas and an inclusive and affirming classroom culture.
- Consult and assist in the articulation of corps program and theory of learning
Serve as a key member of the Corps Program Team and TFA-DFW Regional Team (20%)
- Support struggling corps members on individual areas of growth if necessary (could be called upon to serve as a back-up coach)
- Participate in corps member selection and matriculation
- Cultivate corps members and alumni for staff positions to fuel our movement
- Participate in regional events such as All Staff Meetings and retreats
Prior Experience
- Two to three years of corps member support experience (previous TFA experience strongly preferred)
- Two to Four years of prior professional experience
- Ability to travel in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex
