Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Business Affairs will plan, administer and evaluate all of the YMCA’s business practices to include membership systems, human resources, vendor relations and payroll. The Director of Business Affairs provides leadership to the staff team as it relates to all business matters. He/she plays a major role engaging and retaining members through their work with scholarships and special situations with member accounts.
The Forsyth County Family YMCA is a 50,000-square foot facility located in the heart of Vickery Village in Cumming, GA presently serving 2800-member units along with programs in aquatics, youth sports, health & wellness, family program and more.
EFFECT ON END RESULT: This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness of the membership, youth and family programming and the success of programs and services to the community. The effectiveness of this position is primarily measured by the sound department administration, the stated satisfaction of staff and members and a sound fiscal position mentioned earlier. Exercising good judgment and exceptional communication skills will keep members, staff and volunteers well informed creating an atmosphere of minimum conflict.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the member experience department and employees and volunteers.
- Partner with directors to plan, attract and recruit staff, new members and corporate partnerships.
- Effectively manage budgets; working with the executive provide input on budgets.
- Foster a climate of innovation.
- Collaborate with the association office key departments to coordinate accounts payable, human resources and IT relations with the branch.
- Serves as a staff leader to the annual fundraising campaign “Why It Matters”
- Working through the executive director, provide oversight to board relations.
- Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are distributed, understood and implemented.
- Maintain the daily operations of the branch including equipment supplies, petty cash fund, and member retention records.
- Support and assist branch Executive and Directors with day to day operations.
- Manage the onboarding and payroll processes for all part-time staff.
- Reconcile branch sales transactions, post branch deposits and take deposits to bank.
- Manage vendor and invoice processing for branch. Order supplies for departments.
- Manage and process financial assistance applications on a daily basis.
- Responsible for ensuring all invoices, incident reports and HR paperwork is handled on a weekly basis.
- Consistently exhibits good customer service skills, and cultivates relationships of mutual respect and trust with staff, members and peers
- Reconcile monthly petty cash.
- Maintain and process all HOLD accounts.
- Manage and process upgrades, downgrades, cancellations and transfers.
- Responsible for processing CAPS applications for summer camp participants.
- Two (2) or more years related sales, direct client experience, training and development of high performing teams, fiscal management and processing and tracking in a sales data base similar to SPIRIT.
- Must have a background in staff team development and relationship management.
