Under the direction of the CEO, the Outreach & Sports Program Director is responsible for the administration and direction of all the YMCA’s outreach and sports programs, including grant funded programs. The Director is responsible for tracking and reporting financial and operational outcomes for all programs. This includes direct responsibility for the strategic development and implementation of all programs. Some of the programs are Youth & Government (high school),Tutoring Literacy (grade school), sports (all ages), and special events. Some travel is required.

The Program Director must possess good organizational, communication, and supervisory skills. Public relations and relationship building with constituents and the community is a top priority. The Director is responsible for ensuring fulfillment of the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives.
  • Manage program staff and volunteers including: recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and training.
  • Develops and maintains a marketing plan for each program.
  • Manages public communications with all media avenues.
  • Manage and maintain program registration and scholarship applications.
  • Monitor and track grant funded program statistics to meet goals and objectives.
  • Organize YMCA family and community special events.
  • Establish, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Manages, develops, and maintains program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Assists with annual PWY campaign and program fundraising.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years related experience preferred.
  • Completion within 30 days of hire certifications in Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $30,000.00 - $33,000.00
