Camp Grady Spruce, Resident camp of the YMCA of Dallas, is located 120 miles west of Dallas on Possum Kingdom Lake. With 865 acres, Camp Grady Spruce is able to offer an amazing venue to for children, schools, groups, and families to enjoy a wide range of activities and serves over 30,000 people annually. Currently, Camp Grady Spruce is looking for an On-Site Maintenance Associate to ensure that our grounds and facilities are taken care of so that our campers can have a quality experience. In your free time there are ample opportunities to really enjoy the great outdoors (fishing, hiking, boating, etc.) at a beautiful location right on the lake. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Under the supervision of the Branch Facility Director, the On-Site Maintenance Associate is responsible for the care of the facilities and is responsible for carrying out all maintenance related work orders during their regular work schedule and all emergency maintenance needs that arise after hours.
  • He/she is responsible for the care, maintenance, and security of all company owed tools, equipment, vehicles, inventory, and security of the buildings.
  • He/she must maintain the grounds in an attractive manner at all times: lawn mowing, trimming, edging, leaf raking, shrub trimming, lawn seeding, care and watering of flower beds, etc.
  • He/she performs minor plumbing duties, faucet repair, shower valves, toilets, etc. as well as drywall repair, minor electrical repairs, and painting. 
  • In addition, he/she interprets and promotes all aspects and programs of YMCA Camp Grady Spruce for visitors and guests. 
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma or GED required. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • The On-Site Maintenance Associate must have working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, machinery and equipment care and operation. 
  • He/She must have some knowledge in the areas of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, septic systems, soil conservation, ventilation, and electronics. 
  • The On-Site Maintenance Associate must constantly be concerned with safety for self, campers, guests, and staff. 
  • Must be able to read and write and follow directions. 
  • Must possess the knowledge and understanding in how to keep a camping facility well maintained. 
  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties of this position is required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and pass driving requirements as set by the Risk Management Department. 
  • Housing may be available on-site. Individual should be available flexible hours if needed and for facility maintenance emergencies.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Benefits: On-site housing and basic utilities provided. In addition, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas offers a comprehensive Benefits Plan including  Health, Dental, Vision, Long & Short Term Disability, 125 Medical & Dependent Care Reimbursement Plan, Employee Assistance Plan, Retirement 12% paid by the YMCA upon meeting eligibility requirements and Paid Time Off (PTO).

Salary: $29,000.00 - $32,000.00
