The Pennsylvania Chapter of The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Marketing & Events Associate who will plan and manage a variety of development and marketing events as well as provide communications support.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Events and Marketing Associate is responsible for planning and implementing chapter donor, marketing and other chapter events that reflect The Nature Conservancy’s work in Pennsylvania. These events are critical to helping to engage donors, supporters and to communicate the chapter’s messages. The Events and Marketing Associate will manage all logistics for chapter events, including the envisioning and development of events, site selection, schedule, budget management and working with vendors to achieve desired results. This position will help to engage members and donors through targeted, customized experiences like travel opportunities, outings, partner and other events. The Events and Marketing Associate will work with chapter staff as well as members of the Pennsylvania board of trustees and staff from other TNC chapters to design and develop creative approaches to event programming. The Events and Marketing Associate will work with the chapter’s volunteer programs manager to develop a volunteer corps of TNC supporters in the greater Philadelphia area to help support and provide assistance with development and marketing events. This position will also assist with other communications work and events presentations. This position will work very closely with the communications and development teams to execute these goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE 

  • Develops and implements key donor and chapter events that engage chapter members and the larger community.
  • Coordinates projects and manages a timeline.  
  • Effectively manages an events budget.
  • Provides on-site support at events.
  • Works within the chapter’s marketing and outreach goals to meet needs.
  • Works with TNC supporters to build group of dedicated volunteers for development and marketing events.
  • Approaches events with mission-oriented creativity.
  • Works with event volunteers to achieve goals.
  • Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.  
  • Works within a budget to complete assigned projects or work.
  • Works with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
  • Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.
  • Travel periodically, working long or flexible hours as needed.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience developing, organizing and coordinating events.
  • Experience managing and organizing various stakeholders to achieve desired results.
  • Experience working across teams to develop and implement cross-departmental goals.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and manage diverse projects.
  • Experience planning and implementing a wide range of donor events.
  • Experience in engaging and working with volunteers.
  • Strong communications and writing skills.
  • Solid knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct and produce reports, use mail merges and advanced functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic application knowledge of project management principles.
  • Practical application of marketing concepts.
