The Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Director is expected to build awareness of child sexual abuse and enhance prevention efforts across the Movement through cultivating internal and community relationships, identifying and building additional prevention resources, and providing leadership in the development and monitoring of child sexual abuse prevention plans. The Director will operate under the supervision of the YMCA Guardians for Child Protection with guidance, direction and performance management from the Guardians’ Chairperson.
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is the fiscal sponsor and employer for the position although the individual may be housed remotely anywhere in the US. Successful candidates will complete the appropriate screening and reference checks by the Greater Philadelphia YMCA.
Internal to the Y Movement:
- Refine and scale Peer Review Assessments.
- Develop, monitor and update Child Sexual Abuse Prevention (CSAP) Engagement Plans with all Ys across the Movement through the network service model.
- Identify resources available to YMCAs for child sexual abuse prevention such as Praesidium, Praesidium Certified Guardians, Darkness to Light, insurance carriers, CDC, etc.
- Build and maintain relationships with major CSAP resource providers.
- Create and distribute biennial survey to YMCAs to learn about the CSAP resources currently in use and specific needs for additional resources.
- Cultivate excellent relationship with Y-USA’s VP of Child Safety and Organizational Risk
- Support the annual roll out, participation in and expansion of the Five Days of Action in collaboration with the YMCA Guardians.
- Support Implementation of Know, See, Respond across the Movement.
External facing:
- Activate YMCAs to engage in child sexual abuse prevention in community.
- Identify advocacy opportunities for Ys to engage in.
- Present annually at the annual International Symposium on Child Abuse (youth-serving organization track).
- Competent and credible subject matter expert on child sexual abuse prevention.
- Deeply experienced in convening and influencing the leadership of the Y and interacting with program staff positively.
- Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills.
- Demonstrated excellent communications skills, including effective large group presentations.
- Effective group facilitation skills.
- Experience with both strategic thinking and tactical execution.
- Proven experience as an effective relationship builder.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal problem solving.
- Must be able to comply with background clearance policy.
- Nationwide travel will range between 20%-40%.
