In cooperation with the Vice President, Childcare, the Association Director of Grants Administration, Childcare directs and leads the overall grant efforts in childcare after the Development Team has identified potential grant support from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to meet the financial and operational needs of the organization. Responsible for program design, implementation, compliance and grant reporting. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for ensuring our childcare programs comply with requirements for externally funded initiatives.
  • In cooperation with program representatives, oversee the production of proposals, grant applications, reports and collateral materials for grant and foundation giving and to ensure the timely fulfillment of grant requirements.
  • Directly work with the Development Team on grant writing and timely submission.
  • Utilize a methodological and analytical approach to meet such requirements while providing clear communication of proper rules and regulations for approving grants, its specifications, requirements and objectives across all departments of the organization and the management
  • Planning and implementing grant programs from its application to approval and utilization. Have the ability to perform grant research, grant writing, grant program design and implementation, compliance and grant reporting.
  • Provide support to local program staff to ensure effective implementation of grant funded programs.  
  • Oversee the job of invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process
  • Prepare financial or budget plans and allocation along with the planning and finance department in accordance with each requirement
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs and submit
  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly reports as necessary for all grant related activities
  • Represent the Y at various programs and events.
  • Maintain knowledge of Association policies and procedures, risk management, safety practices and applicable laws.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree with five years’ experience in early childhood education; grant writing or business administration
Skills/Experience: 
  • Documented track record of successful implementations and audits of programs/grants
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to make presentations to senior-level groups as well as to build one-on-one relationships with members of diverse constituencies at all levels of authority; strong organizational and writing skills
  • Ability to function as a team player and to work effectively with volunteers and staff
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects
  • Possess excellent organizational skills
  • Strong command over written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of the organization's overall business and its objectives
  • Possess good knowledge of planning and strategizing financial and budgeting issues
  • Ability to work within a team and provide support to the junior staff
  • Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities
  • Experience with basic financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting
  • A multi-tasker with strong ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using computers with related knowledge of software programs and Internet
  • Acquire and maintain the following certifications:
    • CPR Pro/AED/O2 (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
    • First Aid (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
    • Requisite Redwoods Online Trainings (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
