Interns will work a minimum of 10 hours per week (fall and spring) and 20 hours (summer). Internships are available during the spring, summer and fall. Students must own a laptop and be able to arrange transportation to and from LLS office, events, etc. Some events may require the student to work nights or weekends when available. Internships are not paid. Interns who seek college credit for their experience should work with LLS to meet criteria.
Interns will work closely with the Light The Night staff to develop a work plan that will benefit the campaign, and best utilize their knowledge and skills. Interns will help manage, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Manage overall volunteer recruitment efforts, needs assessment and placement of volunteers
- Create Light The Night volunteer recruitment, stewardship and communication strategy
- Assist with Light The Night logistics planning for walk series
- Solicit in-kind products and donations to minimize expenses
- Overall campaign support
Social Work and Human Services students will be accepted if they have an interest or knowledge in fundraising and marketing communications. Successful candidates will have the following qualities and skills:
