Grange Audubon Center is looking for help to execute special events and ensure the property is managed appropriately. The Audubon Center is seeking a part-time facility attendant to assist the Operations Manager with facility-related duties. This individual will typically work up to 15 hours a month and primarily supports the center during evenings and weekends so weekend and evening availability is required. The primary duties of the position will be supervision, facility coordination and customer service.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist with the day-to-day physical operations of the Grange Insurance Audubon Center including the physical property, janitorial duties and overall maintenance.
  • Perform facility set-up, teardown and nominal cleaning for internal and external customers including private rentals.
  • Serve as main contact and resource for private rental groups during events, including interacting with catering staff, bridal parties and guests.
  • Work with key staff to ensure the impeccable care and stewardship of the physical property.
  • Ensure night, weekend and special event operations run smoothly.
  • Perform facility walkthroughs inside and out to ensure a high standard of facility cleanliness, structural soundness, safety and efficiency.
  • Work with staff on educational and administrative assigned projects and tasks.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
High School degree or equivalent preferred, experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Skills/Experience: 
  • One to three years customer service or related experience.
  • A self-starter, one who is a problem solver, resourceful and is comfortable working independently, at times. Must be friendly, energetic and have an empathic personality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks through use of effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive work ethic; experience working with external groups highly preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekday and weekend morning and evening hours (beyond midnight).
  • Ideally passionate about nature and conservation.
  • Ability to patrol the property repeatedly and lift objects (50-80 pounds) with or without accommodation.
