The Grange Audubon Insurance Center is a sanctuary for birds and nature lovers, set in parkland created from a formerly urban and industrial site in the heart of downtown Columbus, along the Scioto River. This LEED-Certified 18,000 sq. ft. building and surrounding two-acre property brings visitors from the community and beyond for onsite education programs, as well as for special public and private events.
To help execute special events and ensure the property is stewarded appropriately, Audubon is seeking a part-time attendant to assist the Operations Manager with facility-related duties. This individual will typically work between 10-30 hours month (depending on event scheduling and personal availability) and primarily supports the center during evenings and weekends.

- Ensure night, weekend and special event operations run smoothly.
- Perform facility walkthroughs inside and out to ensure a high standard of facility cleanliness, structural soundness, safety and efficiency.
- Work with staff on educational and administrative assigned projects and tasks.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- One to three years customer service or related experience.
- A self-starter, one who is a problem solver, resourceful and is comfortable working independently, at times. Must be friendly, energetic and have an empathic personality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks through use of effective organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and a positive work ethic; experience working with external groups highly preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekday and weekend morning and evening hours (beyond midnight).
- Ideally passionate about nature and conservation.
- Ability to patrol the property repeatedly and lift objects (50-80 pounds) with or without accommodation.
