The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is hiring a Senior Director of Healthy Living.  Under the direction of the Executive Director of Membership and in accordance with Association policies, the Senior Director of Healthy Living is responsible for leading the direct oversight and accountability for Healthy Living association wide; to include initiatives & strategies that support membership retention, leadership development, staff supervision, community relations, collaborations, financial management and financial development and center culture. The Senior Director of Healthy Living will oversee the development and implementation of innovative curriculum and activities with consistently achieved program metrics, and supervise, guide and develop staff to ensure that health seekers find personal success in a fun, supportive and safe environment.  This position will be housed out of the Southeast Family YMCA and also act as the Healthy Living Director for this location. We are seeking an experienced candidate with an extensive background in leadership and budget experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing personal trainers and group training programs.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Supervises Healthy Living directors to assure Personal & Small Group goals are met, Member engagement/Jump Start strategies are delivered, Group Exercise is delivered at a high quality and staff provides an excellent member service experience throughout all operations. Provides leadership and direction to the centers
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the centers Healthy Living operating budgets and meets or exceeds budget targets & margins.
  • Monitors monthly financial reports to assure that revenue targets and margins are met and expenses are controlled.
  • Directs the financial development activities of the centers.
  • Ensures the operational growth of the YMCA through program expansion, member recruitment and retention.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in the service delivery area.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.
  • Directs center strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the centers.
  • Develops and directs high-quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Directs centers marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate the benefit to the community.
  • Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or related field (Exercise Science/Kinesiology or another Health and Wellness 4 year accredited degree)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA, other not-for-profit agency or profit Fitness operations.3 or more years of multi-center management experience, preferably in a YMCA, other nonprofit agency or profit Fitness operations.
  • Ability to direct total operations through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.  Ability to work in a team-oriented, solution driven, innovative, can do/positive work environment.
  • Proven track record of leading high-level Fitness programs and services, with a large focus on Personal, Small Group & Functional Training that meet the wants, needs and interest of the membership base.  
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community partnerships and organizations.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of successful program development experience that includes managing staff
  • CPT, ACSM, ACE, NASM, NCSF, NFPT, AFAA certified
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00
