The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region has an immediate opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide focused leadership in the area of membership acquisition. Under the direction of the Associate VP of Membership & Healthy Living, the Association Director of Membership Sales is charged with the development of member recruitment, satisfaction, front line staff training and marketing plans. With the “Member Experience” as the foundation of this role, the position is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration of all membership recruitment and sales efforts. Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop, meet and exceed annual membership sales and retention goals.
  • Demonstrate consistent excellence in sales presentations, closing techniques, telephone and in-person service, and prospective member engagement.
  • Implement membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
  • Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
  • Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures around service and engagement. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff. Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions and standard operating procedures.
  • Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
  • Accountable for comprehensive knowledge of all YMCA mission, services, products, pricing policies and systems.
  • Provide monthly sales and retention reports by center and staff member.
  • Assist branch membership directors in additional promotion, sales and relationship building techniques.
  • Ensures resolution of Centers membership issues as needed
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field (Marketing, communications) preferred or three years of general work experience or a combination of education and work experience in related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum age of 21 years old
  • 5 Years supervisory experience in customer service and sales
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Requires proven track record in membership development and retention and fiscal management.
  • Project management experience preferred
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $56,875.00 - $60,000.00
