The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is a growing $27m Association with 11 locations serving areas in Tennessee, E Arkansas & N Mississippi.
The Senior Program Director is a vital part of our leadership staff team supervising wellness department including, CrossFit, Group Exercise, and Y Dance program. This position will also directly supervise a Program Director over Aquatics. This position provides major influence over the image, mission, and growth of our Y and will be responsible for all aspects of member and program experience for the branch including training, supervision, communication, recruitment and retention. This position will also develop, plan and implement new procedures, methods and wellness programs to achieve strategic goals.
- Implements department and program strategies that support recruitment of new participants and retention of existing members and program participants.
- Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Establishes new program activities and expands program with the community in accordance with the strategic and operating plans.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.Reviews and evaluatesstaff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Supervises one full-time Program Director, one part-time coordinator and 35-40 part-time staff.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Director on related issues.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for wellness and aquatics and takes appropriate action to correct variances
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of participation in programs.
- Organizes wellness events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
- Leads assigned aspects of the Annual Campaign.
- Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments ofthe community.

Salary: $44,000.00 - $49,000.00
