Under the supervision of the Director of Membership Services, the Membership Director is responsible for directing and participating in membership strategies including prospecting and recruitment of new members, training the sales team, and developing, planning and implementing best practices/procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Participating in meeting and exceeding monthly and annual membership sales goals.
- Evaluating and implementing the process for handling membership inquiries via phone and email.
- Managing prospects through leads, tours, walk-ins, phone inquiries, referrals, corporate wellness partners, guest passes, terminations and prospects from campaigns.
- Achieving prospecting goals.
- Providing data in weekly and monthly reports including sales, tours, tour/join ratios and prospecting conversions.
- Participating in branch Annual Campaign fundraising.
- Attending wellness fairs and community events.
- Implementing other sourcing methods as developed.
- Performing other duties, as necessary.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Two years of related experience required.
- Sales experience required, preferably in a membership setting.
- The role requires excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
- Must have a proven record of meeting/exceeding sales goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- The Membership Director position is a full time, exempt, position with an initial schedule that includes Monday, Wednesday, Friday until 5:00 pm; Tuesday and Thursday until 8:00 pm; every other Saturday, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.
- The schedule may vary based on operational needs.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $40,000.00
