The Aquatics Director leads the aquatics team in providing a safe environment and provides leadership in expanding the Brandywine Y's aquatic programming.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Aquatic Director ensures the aquatics experience is safe, fun and enjoyable for members and program participants.
- Responsibilities include leadership and supervision of all aquatic lessons, both group and private, aquatics camp, lifeguards for our indoor and outdoor pools and all related aquatic activities that involve community collaborations.
- The Swim Team Coach also reports to the Aquatic Director. The Aquatic Director will hire, train, schedule and supervise staff and ensure the aquatics team provides a safe environment for all members and participants.
- Additionally, the Aquatic Director is expected to work hands-on with aquatic programs and fulfill general building director evening and weekend duties as assigned.
- The Aquatic Director will also perform other duties, as necessary.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Two or more years of YMCA experience required or related experience within another organization may be considered. Ellis Lifeguard Certification preferred.
- YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer preferred. Proven skills in staff leadership and supervision, safety and risk management expertise, budget management and relationship building is needed to be successful in this position.
- Seeking a team player who is flexible with work schedule as evening and weekend coverage will be required. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00
