Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Advanced Director of Early Childcare and School Age Childcare (SACC) will provide hands-on leadership and supervision of the Early Childcare Learning center and oversight of the SACC and Camp programs.  This position is responsible for the development and operation of the programs and is also responsible for budget management, ensuring compliance will all Department of Human Services regulations and providing the best member experience through quality programming.  Additionally, this position will support and supervise the School Age Childcare/Camp Director as well as full and part-time teachers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Effectively communicates the mission, vision and values of the YMCA.
  • Supports the development and oversight of Early Childcare, School Age Childcare and Camp programs and departmental budgets.
  • Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, program evaluation and on-going staff training.
  • Ensures the Y mission and character development values are incorporated into programs.
  • Ensures overall growth of designated programs.
  • Recruits, trains and manages direct reports.  Supports direct reports in recruitment, training and management of department staff.
  • Understands all risk management procedures and policies and helps implement branch compliance.
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with all staff and participants.
  • Plays an active role in our Annual Campaign.
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must be able to meet licensing requirements for PA Department of Human Services. 
  • Three or more years of experience that includes supervising camp programs and childcare/preschools required. 
  • Superior relationship building skills, computer proficiency and excellent organizational skills are essential to succeed in this position. 
  • Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and evenings.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $47,500.00 - $50,000.00
