The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking a Lead Graphic/Multimedia Designer who is responsible for supporting the visual content creation (print and digital), and maintaining brand standards for the association. The individual will work daily with staff across the association to execute creative campaigns and visual graphics that support messaging for various initiatives. The individual will be responsible for visual user experience of our brand through both online and in branch graphics and imagery. This person will be responsible for meeting immediate visual information needs at our Ys, as well as plan for the success of long term marketing initiatives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Conceptualize design for a variety of content materials, from initial idea to completed piece.
  • Oversee creative campaigns, working with all involved staff, from conception to completion.
  • Produce both print collateral materials, as well as multimedia graphics, utilizing stock or original photography and appropriate image manipulation techniques.
  • Lead visual/written content strategy for individual marketing initiatives.
  • Design presentations and templates for new products, solutions, and services, internal and external communications, and key support staff training related to marketing programs and new, updated or retiring content.
  • Work closely with the digital marketing specialist deliver quality, brand-compliant visual and written content.
  • Work with the digital marketing specialist on technology implementations such as SMS and Mobile Applications.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for source files that coordinates with the team’s project management system.
  • Ensure correct, timely, affordable production of content by personally managing the production process from identification of specifications and recommendations, to sourcing of pricing and vendor options, and coordination of production and procurement.
  • Closely partner with corporate functions to ensure that the corporate brand is accurately and efficiently represented.
  • Ensure team adoption of systems and processes around the creation, production and management of marketing materials, including asset naming/numbering, art file storage, use of on-line content management systems (CMS) and/or digital asset management systems (DAMs), variable data production, on-line proofing and workflow management applications, and Print On Demand.
  • Capture, edit and produce video and audio for various projects using basic capturing, lighting, and production tools.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in visual communications, graphic design, multimedia design, or similar area of focus.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum four years' professional experience in development and design of print and electronic collateral
  • Experience mobilizing and leading team projects.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining web CMS; strong understanding of interactive design principles, usability, branding, and web architecture.
  • Video capturing, editing, and production experience.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms including list management and data segmentation.
  • Ability and willingness to mobilize and lead teams on special projects.
  • Ability to juggle and meet multiple deadlines, prioritizing projects, ability to self-direct and work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills.
