The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking an Executive Director of Marketing who will be responsible for planning and directing the marketing, creative and public relations work of the YMCA to build the community's understanding of the YMCA's cause and impact. This role will also develop and implement effective marketing and communication strategies.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develops annual operating goals, objectives and plan for the marketing and communication area. Monitors the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met.
  • Plans and implements organization's public relations strategies and coordinates all media related inquires.
  • Develops comprehensive plan to increase community's awareness and understanding of the Y's cause and impact. Oversees staff responsible for executing this plan. Executes on member communication.
  • Assists the CDO in maintaining brand standards, advocacy and voice throughout the organization.
  • Serves on the team that analyzes data to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Develops, produces and distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs, in accordance with membership and marketing plans.
  • Establishes contacts with media representatives and writes and submits press releases when appropriate. Maintains updated files of YMCA's media relations (both press and electronic).
  • Develops, monitors and administers assigned annual budget and maintains a positive fiscal position taking corrective action if necessary.
  • Develops effective working relationships with service groups, community organizations and companies. Makes presentations about the YMCA.
  • Implements social media, web and other digital strategies to expand visibility and increase member and community engagement.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises assigned staff and volunteers. Provides development and leadership.
  • Provides and maintains related statistics and reports.
  • Serves on Membership Cabinet to ensure linkage between advertising promotions and membership goals and objectives.
  • Works with leadership to champion retention strategies for members, program participants and donors.
  • Leads assigned aspects of the fund-raising campaign especially as it relates to communicating the Y's cause and impact.
  • Under the leadership of the CEO and CDO manages the Crisis Communication process for the association.
  • May plan and coordinate special events.
  • Responsible for development of all materials for annual meeting events, annual reporting and advocacy events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field. Masters in Marketing with 10 years of experience preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Seven years of previous professional experience in marketing, communication and public relations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute result-oriented strategic marketing/communication plans.
  • Demonstrated experience-engaging consumers across the lifecycle to enhance brand awareness and value and drive revenue, customer acquisition and retention.
  • Experience in management and development of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00
