YMCA of Greater Cleveland has an immediate need for a Membership Director that will be responsible for developing annual membership budgets, projecting and achieving membership goals, and implementing Branch/ Association-wide membership and program promotions. In addition, this role is responsible for recruiting, supervision and scheduling for all front desk personnel. The Membership Director will direct front desk staff in day-to-day processes such as registration, customer service and reception duties. Tasks include facility tours and sales, resolution of customer complaints, follow-up calls to all non-renewals, accurate and timely completion of all sales data and statistics. Focus of this position is sales (including corporate and outside), marketing and promotions.
- Staff Recruitment and Development: Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Budget Development: Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
- Sales: Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
- Membership & Marketing Development: Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Public Relations/Community Affairs: Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
- Successful experience in sales including prospecting, marketing, closing, retention and customer service activities.
- Previous supervisory experience in service industry.
- Must display an outgoing personality, enabling him/her to relate well to members, participants, guests and the community at large.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of software packages and ability to analysis financial information.
- Self-motivated team player.
Salary: $35,000.00 - $36,000.00
