This leadership position in an Association actively engaged in many national Y initiatives, and is responsible for the day-to-day general administration of marketing and communications including team leadership, total project intake and project management of all print collateral and social media. This position manages a print budget of $50K. This position works very closely with all operating units to ensure the timely production of materials and communications to advance the work of the Y in the communities we serve. This position also has responsibility for all of the graphic design, including brand compliance, copy writing and editing. In addition, this position supports all department event planning, annual campaign and implementation.

Areas of Responsibility: 

High Quality Programs, Services and Facilities

  • Manage all collateral print projects from intake to completion. 
  • Manage social media communications. 
  • Create, manage and plan a wide variety of audio, graphic, print, online and video content for programs and activities that maximize the YMCA Cause and enhance membership, philanthropy and programs.
  • Promote and monitor membership and program participation, while taking a leadership role in participant cultivation and retention.
  • Maintain a marketing/content calendar.
  • Manage internal brand compliance of the YMCA brand.
  • Manage website email inquiries.
  • Coordinate website content, including events, story/blog updates and creative banners with print and social media messages.
  • Photograph and create video stories for various marketing events and programs as assigned.
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Ensure the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment by keeping supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment.

Staff and Volunteer Management

  • Develop department staff, interns and volunteers through use of Leadership Competency Model resources that create a culture of cause-driven leaders.
  • Lead and/or participate in Association committees and work groups.
  • Support branch Y Community Champions efforts.

Finance

  • Prepare and manage annual print budget of ($50,000) for approval by the VP.
  • Recommend adjustments, administer and track the printing budget, exercising necessary expense controls and revenue production.

Community Development

  • Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and government entities.
  • Promote and communicate the objectives and programs of the YMCA through press releases and media relations.
  • Participate in the planning and delivering of the Association annual celebration/meeting to advance the Y in the community.

Financial Development

  • Incorporate storytelling in an effort to advance our mission and cause.
  • Participate in Annual Campaign marketing efforts.
  • Participate in branch special events for fundraising or mission advancement.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree in advertising, communications, graphic design, marketing or in a related field required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least three years' experience in related field.
  • Must meet YMCA of the Suncoast driving criteria. Y-USA Leader, Team leader, Multi Team Leader or Organizational Leader Certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time as well as squat, stoop or bend into awkward positions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to work with others and multitask. Must be able to manage and cultivate relationships and have a high level of emotional maturity.
  • Must have strong communication skills including written, verbal and presentation skills. Must have strong organizational skills and strong design skills with Adobe Creative Cloud, content and project management tools.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hiring Range:  $15.63/hr - $ 16.83/hr ($32,500 - $35,000 annualized)
