About the position

Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics, the Senior Data Capability Specialist helps build the capability of Cradle to Career Network members to use data for continuous improvement to transform systems. You’ll help communities get to equitable results by supporting their data and information needs, including promoting the effective use and communication of data to drive strategy and accelerate outcomes for populations facing persistent disparities.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Cradle to Career Network in planning, implementing and understanding data collection and analysis.
  • Support the Cradle to Career Network in identifying key systems-level indicators and data sources to track progress toward systems transformation.
  • Coach partners in navigating the politics of data sharing and transparency.
  • Provide consultation and strategic assistance to partners on matters of data analytics, building their capability to use data for continuous improvement.
  • Support the Cradle to Career Network in translating data into actionable insights and communicating data with local partners and community members.
  • Support the Cradle to Career Network with the presentation of disaggregated data to avoid deficit-based framing for populations facing persistent disparities.
  • Assist with internal data storytelling efforts by translating data into meaningful communication and presentation tools (dashboards, presentations, reports, etc.) for a variety of audiences.
  • Convene and facilitate conversations between data managers from across the Cradle to Career Network to support peer-to-peer learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, statistics or a related field with 3-5 years of experience, or 7-9 years of experience with data-focused social science and policy work.
  • Experience collecting and using quantitative and qualitative disaggregated data for research or continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience with educational datasets and evaluation.
  • Considerable knowledge of school district policies, procedures and standards regarding K-12 education, and/or experience with early childhood/postsecondary systems.
  • Experience working with different community partners on sharing data.
  • Familiarity with the collective impact model.
  • Ability to conduct professional development around data.
  • Strong data communication, report writing and presentation skills, including the ability to present complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Experience with Tableau (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously, with experience organizing and prioritizing work quickly in response to changing needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Details of the position: This is an exempt position. StriveTogether offers competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience and skills. The salary range for this position is $65,000-$78,000. This position is for a full-time, long-term contracted employee with a contract of 24 months. Due to COVID-19, staff are working remotely and may continue to do so for an extended period. Remote work is available for candidates based outside of Cincinnati.
