Under the direction of the Executive Director & in accordance with the Christian nature and purpose of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, the Senior Program Director is primarily responsible for supporting the growth and sustainability of Achievement Gap & Federal programs. Will be responsible for supporting the YMCA in their work implementing of federal programs as well as links to afterschool program models, summer learning loss program models and early learning program models. Will support the efforts to strengthen the capacity of YMCA to successfully impact academic readiness and success.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides oversight to the accomplishment of project outcomes and objectives over the project period including planning and development.
  • Plans for and implements the evaluation and assessment of the work of the project, working with internal and external evaluation partners.
  • Works with Financial Development for sustainability, applications, and tracking progress.
  • Supports the efforts of YMCAs in new program models through calls, webinars, site visits, impact measurement and program assessments.
  • Support the tracking of new evidence based national trends in early learning, afterschool and summer learning loss to improve the quality and eventual spread to Y programs.
  • Responsible for the oversight of all required 21st Century reporting and provide data and reports as required or requested for assigned programs.
  • Responsible for researching and assessing potential school partnerships for qualifying programs and assist in establishing initial relationships with schools administration.
  • Responsible for directing and managing YUSA signature programs and communicating with the YUSA Technical Advisor.
  • Provide operational support for resource coordination.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations, ensuring that program standards are met and required reports are submitted.
  • Assists with implementation of the Annual Support Campaign plan.
  • Participate in Association committees and meetings as assigned.
  • Hire, train and evaluate all personnel related to respective program assignments. 
  • Establish, with the branch leadership team, long-range plans for the expansion of programs and services for the branch and goals for action to achieve those plans in harmony with approved long-range objectives and basic activities.
  • Support branch leadership and increase impact of youth development program by utilizing branch resources.
  • Review existing programs, enrollment, and services of the organization and make the necessary recommendations for their continuance or change.
  • Develop and administer the annual branch budget of assigned program areas and exercise necessary controls to assure operations are consistent with the approved budget.
  • Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, and Social Work or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have a good understanding of the nature and purpose of the YMCA and the respective roles performed by volunteers and staff.
  • Maintain required certifications as applicable.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and the general public is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong, positive customer service skills.
  • Must be able to delegate appropriate responsibilities to the staff in order to accomplish the necessary duties.
  • Must be able to direct, and guide all programs with knowledge of the association’s short and long term goals.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $38,000.00 - $42,000.00
