This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Senior Program Director - Membership intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined. Central Parkway YMCA is located in Over-the-Rhine, one of USA Today's Top Ten Places to Visit this summer; our branch recently underwent a $30 million renovation and serves 2500+ membership units that are mostly millennials.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensures programs and services meet community needs.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
- Ensures a level of service and engagement that fosters loyalty among those we serve.
- Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
- Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff in a clear, concise way. Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
- Leads membership staff and volunteers effectively; recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams; onboards and develops them for success.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
- Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fundraising.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $37,000.00 - $42,000.00
