Under the direction of the Executive Director and in accordance with the Christian nature and purpose of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, the Senior Program Director is primarily responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the branch Membership & Wellness departments.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Recruits, hires, supervise and evaluate all personnel related to respective program assignments.  Oversee and/or coordinate activities for branch volunteers.
  • Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
  • Review existing programs, enrollment, and services of assigned programs and make the necessary recommendations for their continuance or change.
  • Provides leadership and support for branch management team, annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees as assigned.  Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
  • Be responsible for regular inspection and maintenance of facilities and properties of the branch to assure high standards of maintenance, safety, cleanliness and meeting requirements of applicable codes and laws.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations, ensuring that program standards are met .
  • Be responsible for strict adherence to all branch/department policies and procedures related to safety, conduct rules and other regulations.
  • Develop and administer the annual branch budget of assigned program areas and exercise necessary controls to assure operations are consistent with the approved budget.
  • Provides data and reports as required or requested for assigned programs.
  • Develops, produces and distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs in accordance with branch marketing plans.
  • Respond to written or verbal comments/complaints/suggestions.
  • Participate in Association committees and meetings as assigned.
  • Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.  YMCA Senior Director certification and three (3) to five (5) years of professional YMCA experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • The incumbent should have successful experiences in fiscal management, budgeting, fund raising, staff supervision, volunteer development, facility management and program development.
  • Must have a good understanding of the nature and purpose of the YMCA and the respective roles performed by volunteers and staff.
  • Maintain required certifications as applicable.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and the general public is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong, positive customer service skills.
  • The incumbent must be able to delegate appropriate responsibilities to the staff in order to accomplish the necessary duties.
  • Must be able to supervise, direct, and guide all programs with knowledge of the association’s short and long term goals.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $38,000.00 - $42,700.00
