The Director of Programs & Services provides leadership to all Program staff and manages the needs assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programs for individuals and families affected by dementia in the counties served by the Greater Cincinnati Chapter in the states of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. Responsibilities include supervision of the Chapter Office Program staff and management of systems to ensure efficient and effective delivery of programs across the service area.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Sets strategic direction for programs and services delivery in collaboration with the Executive Director
- Develops and supervises an annual work plan for programs and services which is in alignment with the National Alzheimer Association's strategic plan and organizational standards to meet the needs of the chapter territory.
- Oversees the annual work plan of individual program staff members with emphasis toward completion of goals and objectives formulated for fulfilling their role in the strategic plan.
- Develops, implements and evaluates new programs and services based on the assessed needs of the chapter.
- Develops and provides education programs for family and community audiences.
- Oversees the process of conducting consumer satisfaction surveys and outcomes-based evaluation of provided programs and services.
- Supervises, coaches, and develops assigned program staff, including conducting annual performance reviews.
- Provides advanced clinical expertise to program staff to ensure the delivery of programs and services are based on current and accurate scientific knowledge of dementing illnesses and caregiving issues.
- Participates in delivering clinical services to affected individuals and families as needed.
- Assists the executive director in the planning of the annual budget for the delivery of programs and services
- Monitors all Program-related budgets.
- Monitors program documentation and data management related to private, corporate and state funding, including provider agreements with the Ohio Area Agencies on Aging.
- Oversees program processes, including policy and procedure development, review, and revisions.
- Assists in grant writing, and securing funding for programs and services.
- Collaborates and develops relationships with key individuals in the aging, clinical, scientific, and research communities to promote local programs and further the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association
- Assists with fundraising events, as needed, at the direction of the Development team
- Represents the Association at program-related public forums, conferences, or workshops.
Educational Background:
Master’s degree in social work or nursing, with current Ohio licensure in profession.
Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of all aspects of program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Expert knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, dementia care principles,family dynamics and caregiving issues.
- Experience in management and evaluation of clinical staff
- Excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
- Knowledge of budget development, monitoring, and assessment of variances.
