This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As one of the frontline ambassadors of the Ohio Alliance of YMCAs Foundation to students, teachers, and community partners in Ohio, this position is responsible for supporting existing participants, bringing in new participants, maintaining good relationships with our alumni and other stakeholders, and creating/executing our programs in collaboration with the State Director. This position is based in the Columbus, OH region.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist in developing, coordinating, managing and expanding the Ohio Alliance programs and services for youth to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assist in developing a plan to maintain collaborative relationships with alumni, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Manage volunteers throughout program events, including trainings and new programs in accordance with strategic and operating plans of our programs.
- Assist in fund raising activities and special events.
- Assist in the development of event schedules, volunteer assignments for conferences and event execution along with the entire staff team.
- Maintain accurate records current staff certifications.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Produce informational material and brochures in conjunction with marketing plans.
- Schedule and post on all Social Media Outlets that our program use, including expanding into new Social Media Outlets as they become available.
- Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Skills/Experience:
Education/Experience:
- Minimum one year experience teaching and/or working with/volunteering with young people.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to drive and available to travel 30-40% of the year.
- Ability to communicate effectively in group settings and/or over the phone.
Skills and Ability Requirements:
- Must have an excellent understanding of the YMCA Youth & Government program and/or other teen leadership programs.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in order to maintain harmonious relationships with staff members, volunteers, program participants, and the general public.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be creative, motivated, and a self-starter with the ability to lead and motivate others.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $27,000.00 - $35,000.00
